Michael Lavigne MSc, FRM, CIM

Michael Lavigne is Senior Managing Director, Public Markets Platform at Fiera Capital and a member of the firm’s Global Investment Office (GIO). In this role, he provides senior leadership and strategic oversight of Fiera’s global Public Markets platform, including equities, fixed income, and cross-asset strategies, as well as the firm’s trading and implementation capabilities.

As part of the Global Investment Office, Mr. Lavigne contributes to the firm’s investment governance and platform strategy across Public and Private Markets. He works closely with portfolio managers, investment team leaders, and senior management to ensure strong investment discipline, efficient portfolio implementation, and alignment between Fiera’s investment convictions and the portfolios delivered to clients. Through the GIO framework, he also help guide strategy development, oversee investment performance, and support the evolution of Fiera’s public markets platform in a rapidly changing investment landscape.

Mr. Lavigne brings more than 17 years of experience in the investment industry, combining quantitative portfolio management expertise with strategic platform leadership. He joined Fiera Capital in 2016 as a Quantitative Portfolio Manager, where he was responsible for developing systematic investment strategies and portfolio construction frameworks. Earlier in his career, he served as an Associate Portfolio Manager at an investment management firm, focusing on the development and management of quantitative investment strategies.

Mr. Lavigne has deep expertise in systematic investment, portfolio construction, risk management, and quantitative research. His work has focused on applying systematic investment techniques, data-driven insights, and advanced analytics to improve portfolio outcomes and strengthen investment processes.

Mr. Lavigne holds a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from HEC Montréal. He is a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and a Certified Investment Manager (CIM).
